Apotrox was founded in Norway in 2024. Our early work focused on fish-health monitoring and included field trials with salmon farmers. In 2026, we began developing hardware for sorting and handling.
We have tested the first version of our sorting unit. A second, full-scale prototype is now under development for testing at sea. Our next steps focus on further trials, integration and understanding how the technology performs under practical farming conditions.
We want fish farmers to have practical ways to act on what they know about their fish. Greater control over how fish are grouped, moved and harvested could create more flexibility throughout production.
Our ambition is to make these operations simpler and support fish welfare through technology that works with the facilities farmers already have.
Our team brings together hands-on experience from salmon farming with backgrounds in fish health, biotechnology, data science, finance and business development. We also have experience building companies and developing products for international markets.
That combination shapes how we work. We build and test, discuss ideas with farmers and technical specialists, and adjust our plans as we learn. Understanding the working day at a fish farm is central to the equipment we want to develop.
